Wine company Sula Vineyards India is taking its wines to Russia. At present, Sula has over 65 per cent market share in India and exports to more than 25 countries across Asia and Europe, apart from the US and Canada. Sula is India’s first wine producer to introduce its wines in Russia. It has partnered with Marine Express, one of Russia’s largest importers and distributors of wine and liquor. Marine Express covers all Russian regions for distribution and has a clientele of over 400 customers in more than 60 cities. Marine Express caters to chain retailers, restaurants and hotels, catering as well as wholesale companies. Sula recently acquired Karnataka-based Heritage Winery, a producer of fortified wines and big name in wine tourism in Karnataka. Market leader Sula plans to use this facility to drive its plans for the new wines out of Karnataka. With this purchase, Sula became the second wine company in India to have a production base in both Maharashtra and Karnataka. Sula Wines is undergoing a major transformation and is on its way to selling a million cases this year.
