Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh ordered an inquiry into the alleged disappearance of 98 bottles of Johnnie Walker scotch from the Punjab State Drug Food and Chemical Testing Laboratory, Kharar.
Taking cognizance of reports published in a section of the media, the CM directed the director general of police (DGP) to get the matter thoroughly investigated and submit the report in two weeks, according to a press release issued by his office.
The said bottles had been deposited with the lab as sample of liquor seized by the state police. The incident came to light when a raid was carried out by the vigilance department on a complaint about irregularities at the lab.
