Rohan Jalckie, Brand Ambassador, Chandon India introduced guests to fine Chandon wines while conducting a food-pairing lunch with Chandon, which was organized by Moët Hennessy India along with Spiritz as part of SPIRITZ 2016 at the Leela Ambience Gurgaon Hotel and Residencies on November 25. Giving him company as co-host was Sophia Sinha, Senior Marketing Manager of Chandon.
Chandon Brut and Chandon Brut Rosé were the wines chosen for the comfortably warm late autumn afternoon. These wines paired excellently with the food menu that was expertly crafted by Chef Neeraj Rawoot, Chef De Cuisine, hotel Leela Ambience, Gurgaon and his team.
The power-packed lunch was exclusive to the guests of Spiritz and Moët Hennessy India. In attendance were industry leaders like Pradeep Gidwani, a pioneer of India’s beer industry, Shatbhi Basu, India’s First Lady Bartender and DISCUS Ambassador in India, Rahul Singh, founder of Beer Café, and Ankur Chawla, Director of Beverages of at JW Marriott New
Delhi amongst others.
Rohan welcomed the guests with glasses of the Chandon Elderflower Spritzer. Soon they got engrossed in tête-à-têtes while enjoying the welcome drink. Then began the lunch with the
serving of Chandon Brut for the entree course that comprised a selection of Khandvi chaat Hummus, Lebneh, Tabouleh, pita, Peking Duck salad, plum dressing, Eggplant Involtini, mélange of cheeses, Greek salad with feta, peppers and olives.
For the main course, a selection of grilled chicken or spinach & cottage cheese barrel, Malwani rassa, mushroom pilaf, lachcha potato, baghare baigan, tomato chutney was paired with Chandon Brut Rosé. This was followed by the dessert comprising Mascarpone and ricotta crepe with mandarin, raspberry and rhubarb melange with the rosé. The guests happily indulged in the lunch whose taste was enhanced by the personalised service rendered the Leela team.
